This is a run of river type hydropower project. The project site is located at RD 283+100 of Upper Chenab Canal Lower about 6km from Lahore Faisalabad Road and 19km from Sheikupura. The powerhouse is located at RD 282+225 approximately 400m in Upstream of the existing fall structure at RD 283+100 in the bed of the canal towards the right bank of the canal. The powerhouse & spillway is placed adjacently along the same axis & will be constructed in the By Pass. The powerhouse is equipped with two Horizontal Kaplan Turbines with a capacity of 5.0MW. The available design discharge is 150m3/s, and rated head net 4.02m. The total energy output will be 29.13 GWh and the implementation time is estimated as 52 months.
