This is a run-of-river hydropower project located on the Nalter river, a left bank tributary of Hunza River near Gilgit city, Northern Areas, Pakistan. The preliminary studies of the project had previously been carried out by GTZ and HEPO-WAPDA. The Feasibility study was carried out by HEPO-WAPDA and published in 2001.The project envisages a tirolean type diversion weir across Nalter Gah which diverts water in to concrete lined power canal of 3.5 km length. The gravel and sand trap is also provided. The forebay is provided at the end of power canal. A 1.15 km steel Penstock link the forebay and powerhouse. The discharge and head is 9.45 m3/s and 361.95 m, respectively. The powerhouse is open type and will house three numbers Pelton wheel. The project will be connected to Local network
